![]() These motherboards will have a slightly altered feature set and thus support them new upcoming apples from Intel. Z77 is of course the Intel chipset for the upcoming Ivy bridge based processors. This article is a full review of what you may expect from the TUF series Sabertooth Z77, have peek after which we'll dive right into the photo shoot. Z77 is of course the Intel chipset predominantly released for Ivy Bridge based processors. The Z87 enthusiast themed mainboard is intended for Intel's 22nm Haswell processors on Socket LGA1150. We review, test and benchmark the ASUS Sabertooth Z87 TUF series motherboard. Again cool and Quiet is enabled where the FAN RPM is set as low as possible. Peak temperatures remain decent as well, the X4 980 with its four cores stressed under Prime95 software. We are cooling the processors with an OCZ Vendetta heatpipe based cooler only and have cool and quiet activated. Processor temperatures while idle remain below 40 Degrees C based on air cooling for all three processors. The slightly higher wattage compared to reference products can be explained due to the use of extra chips on motherboards, like the USB 3.0 controllers, Hydra IC, PLX switch chip, extra SATA controllers, VIA HUB ands so on. And once we stress the CPU cores overall power consumption went up towards 203W We average out at roughly 119W idle (with a GeForce GTX 580 - 8GB Memory and one SSD installed). The motherboard demands a little more power though that can be tweaked in the BIOS as you get several power state options. This is a complete PC with a high-end graphics card inserted (but GPU not stressed).īTW bear in mind that these tests are all very motherboard dependant and results can (and will) vary per PC setup. Our system idles merely at roughly 120 Watts depending on the OS energy saving setting. As you can see, once we stress all four CPU cores with Prime95 (stress test), our power consumption maxes out at just under 200 Watts. Have a look below to see how we measure and traumatize the processor. Today's setup uses the motherboard on which we seated a dedicated graphics card (GeForce GTX 580), you'll notice that the end-result overall for idle and peak wattage remains good. When was the last time you cleaned it? Dirty Fans = Less Air Flow.Dirty Radiator = Less Cooling.Add them together = No Cooling. The Phenom II processor tested today still has that respectable TDP (peak wattage) of 125 Watts. You said that it was running fine for 4 months. The other two are trash My Memory is water cooled = Remove Heat Spreader = NO WARRANTY. SO I'm now running 8GB of G.Skill RipJaws X DDR3 1866. Memory stick 4 will boot but throws errors in mem test, memory stick is bad I found out that Memory stick one is DEAD, computer will not post Memory stick 2&3 are fine. A) Test each Memory stick by itself until problem is found. Computer booted. It's a Memory Problem.ģ) Which one of the (4) Four Memory sticks is having a problem - Unknown A) Pullout all 4 sticks and INSTALL A KNOWN WORKING ONE. Still did not fix problemĢ) Is the Memory working (4x4GB) - Unknown A) Switched out CPU with A KNOWN WORKING ONE. The CPU led would light up and then Memory led would light up but they kept bouncing back and forth between the CPU & Memory. I roughly had the same issue 3 days ago on my Saberkitty.
